A CEO's Journey of Servant Leadership

Hi, I’m Mike Sweeney, the CEO and Co-Founder of OPTIVets, as well as the CEO and Co-Founder of OPTI Health Lake Norman. My career has been a blend of military discipline and entrepreneurial spirit. My philosophy centers on servant leadership, where the success of those around me accurately measures my achievements. This approach has shaped my career and has been fundamental in building strong, cohesive teams dedicated to making a difference in our community and beyond.

With over 30 years of experience in business and leadership, I’ve navigated numerous challenges and learned invaluable lessons along the way. One of my proudest achievements was founding a small company and growing it from six employees into a $40 million venture with 170 employees. I was fortunate to sell this business to a Fortune 500 company within three years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA from Liberty University, and I am also a National Board-Certified Health Coach. This academic background and ongoing professional development reflect my commitment to excellence and continuous learning. I’m blessed with a wonderful wife of 30 years and am the proud father of nine children, including a set of triplets and six adopted children. My family and professional experiences inspire me daily to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in everything I do.

OPTIVets: Mission of Healing

Through OPTIVets, our 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, we aim to provide specialized healing and support for Veterans and first responders. Our PTSD/TBI programs are meticulously tailored to address the unique needs of those who have experienced traumas, offering comprehensive care and therapies designed to promote recovery and enhance quality of life. We are dedicated to helping Veterans and first responders navigate their healing journey with compassion and expertise, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing concentrated oxygen in a pressurized chamber. By increasing the oxygen supply to damaged cells and tissues, HBOT can enhance brain healing, reduce inflammation, and improve overall brain function.

Intermittent Hyperoxic/Hypoxic Training (IHHT)

IHHT combines physical exercise with high and low concentration oxygen therapy to enhance cardiovascular health, increase oxygen delivery to tissues, improve pulmonary function, and boost overall physical and mental well-being.

Photobiomodulation

This therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing, reduce inflammation, and improve cellular function, which can be particularly beneficial for brain health.

Neurofeedback

A type of biofeedback that uses real-time monitoring of brain activity to train individuals to regulate their brainwave patterns, potentially improving symptoms of PTSD and TBI. Neurofeedback is now an FDA approved treatment for PTSD.

NAD+

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) involves the administration of NAD+ intravenously. Research shows that this coenzyme, essential for cellular function and energy production, may help reduce symptoms of brain injury and improve cognitive function

Amare Supplementation

The OPTI protocol utilizes daily pre and probiotics, phytobiotics combined with nootropics to stabilize mood, increase motivation, mental flow, and physical energy throughout the protocol.

The OPTIprotocol can be customized into a 6 or 12-week program. Starting with an initial medical team screening and an extensive battery of initial assessments, the OPTIprotocol is tailored to each participant. Mid and post-protocol, assessments ensure comprehensive care and optimal results.
